ORR ROAD COOPERATIVE PRIVACY POLICY
The Orr Road Cooperative (the “ORC”) is committed to maintaining robust privacy protections for its Members. Our Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is designed to help Members understand how the ORC collects, uses and safeguards the information each Member provides.
For purposes of this Agreement, “Site” refers to the ORC website, which can be accessed at orrroad.com. “Service” refers to Orr Road Cooperative membership services accessed via various sites and mediums.
By accessing the ORC website or Services, each Member accepts the ORC’s Privacy Policy and consents to the ORC’s collection, storage, use and disclosure of the Members Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy.
I. INFORMATION COLLLECTED
The ORC collects “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information.” Non-Personal Information includes information that cannot be used to personally identify the each Member, such as anonymous usage data, general demographic information collected, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform types, preferences the Member submits and preferences that are generated based on the data each Member submits and number of clicks. Personal Information includes each Member email and contact information, which each Member submits to the ORC through the registration process online or in person. Each Member can create a profile by registering with a designated ORC registration service by entering the Member’s email address and creating a Member name and a password. By registering, each Member is authorizing the ORC to collect, store and use the Members email address in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
II. HOW THE ORC USES AND SHARES INFORMATION
Personal Information:
Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, the ORC does not sell, trade, rent or otherwise share for marketing purposes Members Personal Information with third parties without Members consent. The ORC does share Personal Information with vendors who are performing services for the Company, such as the servers for our email communications who are provided access to each Member’s email address for purposes of sending emails from us. Those vendors use Member Personal Information only at our direction and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
In general, the Personal Information Members provide to the ORC is used to help The ORC communicate with each Member. For example, the ORC uses Personal Information to contact Members in response to questions, solicit feedback from Members, provide technical support, and inform Members about ORC updates.
The ORC may share Personal Information with outside parties if the ORC has a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to meet any applicable legal process or enforceable governmental request; to enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations; address fraud, security or technical concerns; or to protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of the ORC’s Members or the public as required or permitted by law.
Non-Personal Information:
In general, The ORC uses Non-Personal Information to help the organization improve the Service and customize Member communications. The ORC also aggregates Non-Personal Information in order to track trends and analyze use patterns on the Site.
In the event the ORC undergoes a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition by another organization or individual, or sale of all or a portion of the ORC’s assets, the Members’ Personal Information may be among the assets transferred. Each Member acknowledges and consents that such transfers may occur and are permitted by this Privacy Policy, and that any acquirer of the ORC’s assets may continue to process the Members Personal Information as set forth in this Privacy Policy. If the ORC’s information practices change at any time in the future, we will post the policy changes to the Site so that each Member may opt out of the new information practices. The ORC suggests that each Member checks the Site periodically if each Member is concerned about how the Members information is used.
III. HOW THE ORC PROTECTS INFORMATION
The ORC implements security measures designed to protect the Members information from unauthorized access. A Members account is protected by the Members account password and the ORC urges each Member to take steps to keep the Members personal information safe by not disclosing the Members password and by logging out of the Members account after each use. The ORC further protects the Members information from potential security breaches by implementing certain technological security measures including encryption, firewalls and secure socket layer technology. However, these measures do not guarantee that the Members information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of such firewalls and secure server software. By using the ORC’s Service mediums, each Member acknowledges that each Member understands and agrees to assume these risks.
IV. MEMBERS RIGHTS REGARDING THE USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Each Member has the right at any time to prevent the ORC from contacting each Member for marketing purposes. When the ORC sends a promotional communication to each Member, each Member can opt out of further promotional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in each promotional e-mail. Please note that notwithstanding the promotional preferences each Member indicates by unsubscribing, the ORC may continue to send each Member administrative emails including, for example, periodic updates to the ORC’s Privacy Policy.
V. LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES
As part of the Service, the ORC may provide links to or compatibility with other websites or applications. However, the ORC is not responsible for the privacy practices employed by those websites or the information or content they contain. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by the ORC through the Site and the Service. Therefore, this Privacy Policy does not apply to the Members use of a third party’s website accessed by selecting a link on the ORC’s Site or via the ORC’s Service. To the extent that each Member accesses or uses the Service through or on another website or application, then the privacy policy of that other website or application will apply to the Members access or use of that site or application. The ORC encourages Members to read the privacy statements of other websites before proceeding to use them.
VI. CHANGES TO THE ORC’S PRIVACY POLICY
The ORC reserves the right to change this policy and Terms of Service at any time. The ORC will notify Members of significant changes to our Privacy Policy by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in Members account or by placing a prominent notice on our Site. Significant changes will go into effect 30 days following such notification. Non-material changes or clarifications will take effect immediately. Each Member should periodically check the Site and this privacy page for updates.
Authorized Orr Road Cooperative Representatives With Access to Individual Member Private Data
ONLY authorized representatives of the Orr Road Cooperative will have access to Member Private Data, for use ONLY in the conduct of ORC-related administration (for a list of authorized ORC Representatives, email info@orrroad.com), and are responsible for the ORC's adherence to the Orr Road Cooperative’s Privacy Policy, and to lawful management of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) as defined in the Privacy Act of 1974 (Pub.L. 93–579, 88 Stat. 1896, enacted 31 December 1974, 5 U.S.C. § 552a), a United States federal law, which establishes a Code of Fair Information Practice that governs the collection, maintenance, use, and dissemination of personally identifiable information about individuals that is maintained in systems and records maintained by individuals, companies, and organizations. This adherence will include, but not limited to, any PII contained in written, electronic, or verbal communications, as well as stored in any form or medium in order to protect the privacy of the Orr Road Cooperative members.
